01. Election Update
The Leadership Committee is diligently working to finalize the candidate
slate by June 9. Following shortly, we will be opening elections.
Meanwhile, there's still a little bit of time to nominate yourself or a
fellow LOPSA member. Please contact the LC at leadership@lopsa.org to
   nominate someone!

02. Questions for Candidates?
The elections are approaching quickly and we're trying something new with
this election. Do you have questions for the board candidates? Send your
questions to the Leadership Committee (LC) for them to be considered and
answered by prospective candidates! Please submit your questions to
leadership@lopsa.org by June 15 to ensure that they're considered.

03. IT Paleontology: Digging for the Oldest Software in Your Shop
A while back Esther Schindler asked for help with a article on the oldest
software used today and included a shout out to LOPSA.  You can see it at:

Last month there were discussions on how to manage loaner equipment,
VOIP monitoring, the future of OpenStack, and privacy policies among
other items.  The longest discussion was by Matt who asked for advice
in finding a job that will use the skills adn knowledge he has developed
over several years as a system admin.  You can read the details at
   https://lists.lopsa.org/pipermail/discuss/2015-May/thread.html

08. LOPSA Columbus
LOPSA Columbus met in May at CoverMyMeds where Bill Schwanitz presented
about tuning and troubleshooting Java from an operations perspective. Keep
an eye on the mailing list for an upcoming announcement about a presentation
about automating database schema changes. Rob Ball has volunteered to help
organize the club and he officially began helping in April. He has been a
big help so far between helping folks get checked in and getting speakers
organized in advance of their presentations. Welcome Rob to the team!
